To thoroughly implement the national innovation-driven development strategy, deepen university-local government and university-enterprise cooperation, promote the in-depth integration of industry, university and research, boost the high-quality development of regional economy, and further expand employment channels for graduates, the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, led by Secretary of the Party Committee Fu Maosen, went to Weifang and Changyi in Shandong Province from 14 to 15 December under the organization of the University’s Department of Scientific and Technological Research. The delegation successively participated in the "G7+ in Weifang" – Northwestern Polytechnical University Special Matchmaking Event and the Northwestern Polytechnical University-Changyi City University-Local Government Cooperation Exchange Meeting and Key Talent Project Signing Ceremony.

At the "G7+ in Weifang" special matchmaking event, Fu Maosen introduced the school’s disciplinary advantages, research features and talent cultivation achievements. Three teachers from the school – Chen Lixin, Zheng Yaping and Zhang Sai – respectively gave on-site roadshows of high-quality projects including "High-performance Resins and Composite Materials", "Solvent-free Nanofluid Design and Its Application in Polymer Modification" and "Research Achievements in Rare Earth Catalysis". They conducted one-on-one communications with 33 enterprises such as Yabei Coatings and Shandong Haihua, and reached initial cooperation intentions on joint tackling of key technologies and joint application for projects.

At the university-local government cooperation exchange meeting and key talent project signing ceremony held in Changyi, Fu Maosen conducted in-depth discussions with representatives of the Changyi Municipal Party Committee, Municipal Government and local enterprises on talent introduction and cultivation, co-construction of platforms, and achievement transformation. He also witnessed the signing of a key talent project between Professor Zhang Sai of the school and Shandong Aoyou Biotechnology Co., Ltd. This signing marks a substantive step forward in university-local government cooperation for advancing the in-depth integration of industry, university and research, laying a solid foundation for further cooperation in the future.

This trip to Weifang and Changyi is an important initiative for the school to proactively engage with local governments, serve the society, deepen the "1-0" reverse applied basic research, and promote the "1-100" applied relay amplification research. Through a series of activities, the school has successfully built a long-term and stable cooperation network with Weifang City, Changyi City and a number of high-quality enterprises, laying a solid foundation for continuously deepening industry-university-research cooperation, accelerating the transformation of scientific and technological achievements, and improving the quality of talent cultivation. The school will continue to uphold the concept of open cooperation, promote university-local government and university-enterprise cooperation to yield more fruitful results, and make greater contributions to the realization of the university’s "One-Ten-Hundred-Thousand" development goals and the long-term vision of "A World-Class University Renowned for Aeronautics, Astronautics and Astronautics Engineering".
